ARIZONA THEATRE COMPANY ANNOUNCES PERFORMANCES FOR SPRINGTIME BREAK AWAY TOURS

Tour packages include one week of theatre excursions in London or New York City

This spring Arizona Theatre Company will partner with Break Away Tours to offer enriching theatre trips to patrons that want an in-depth arts and cultural experience. The London tour package is May 1 - 8, 2011 and the New York City tour is May 25 - 31, 2011. The price of the package is only $2995 for the entire week. $200 of the proceeds help support Arizona Theatre Company's fundraising efforts. Arizona Theatre Company and Break Away Tours have been working together for ten years to build custom packages for theatre audiences.

400 Years of Theatre in One Week!

The London Tour includes round-trip airfare from Phoenix and a seven - day/ six - night stay with first - class hotel accommodations. Throughout the week guests will experience four different theatre productions. The tours will include Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, Royal National Theatre and an excursion to Bath and Stonehenge. Additional guided walking tours will be available during the week. The package includes additional benefits such as a welcome dinner, afternoon teas accompanied by theatre discussions as well as a daily English breakfast. An additional two-day extended stay package is available for $450 to visit Shakespeare's birthplace - Stratford upon Avon.

The productions for the London Tour include:

War Horse produced by the National Theatre of Great Britain, based on the novel by Michael Morpurgo and adapted by Nick Stafford. The First World War is the backdrop for this tale of bravery, loyalty and the extraordinary bond between a young recruit and his horse.

Priscilla...Queen of the Desert, The Musical is based on the 1994 smash-hit movie. Priscilla is the heart-warming, uplifting adventure of three friends who hop aboard a battered old bus searching for love and friendship and end up finding more than they could have ever dreamed of

SMASH! The rarely seen SMASH! is described as a hilarious but scathing look at the journey to get a musical from page to stage, complete with a cantankerous composer, a fantasist lyricist, a neophyte female novelist turned playwright, a cocksure director and a bombastic producer.

All's Well That Ends Well, which grinds the romantic against the realistic at every turn and reverses all the usual expectations of Shakespearean comedy. Helena loves the arrogant Bertram, and when she cures the King of France of his sickness, she claims Bertram as her reward. But her brand-new husband, flying from Helena to join the wars, attaches two obstructive conditions to their marriage - conditions he is sure will never be met.

For those that are extending their stay in Stratford Upon Avon, they will also see:

The City Madam, which has not been seen in a major production since 1964,. It is a raucous satire on greed and misplaced pride as it tells the story of a wealthy merchant who takes pity on his dissolute brother and invites him and his family to live under his roof.

The Curtain's Always Up on Broadway!

The New York City tour is May 25 - 31, 2011. It includes round-trip airfare from Phoenix or Tucson and a seven - day/six - night stay in a first - class hotel. The tours include iconic arts and cultural destinations such as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Ellis Island and The Cloisters. Additional guided walking tours will be available throughout the week. Other benefits include a welcome dinner, breakfast at Sardi's restaurant and brunch at The Players.

The productions in New York also include War Horse and Priscilla...Queen of the Desert, The Musical. Those visiting New York will also get to see Memphis...The Musical which is the winner of the 2010 Tony for Best Musical. From the underground dance clubs of 1950s Memphis, Tennessee, comes a hot new Broadway musical that bursts off the stage with explosive dancing, irresistible songs and a thrilling tale of fame and forbidden love.
