Subject: Open Casting Call

CASTING CALL THIS SUNDAY, APRIL 14th, 2-4 PM (MAIN DOWNTOWN LIBRARY)

The film is a science fiction, dark comedy with experimental undertones. 3D animation mixed with live action will tell a story of how three generations of a wayward family are challenged and liberated by a century of technological advances. Paper Chain is a story about adaptation, genetic destinies, and freedom of all kinds. It is a speculative look at the upcoming century that does not involve global annihilation, human extinction or any other pervading horror stories. It takes place at the intersection of nature and nurture where the definition of family is unlimited and the spirit of humanism is enhanced by technology.

We will be at the main branch of the pima public library on SUNDAY APRIL 14TH FROM 2:00-4:00PM in the TUCSON ROOM, on the THIRD FLOOR.

We are currently seeking all types to star in an independent feature film. Please be prepared to read an excerpt from the script. We can't wait to meet you!!!

About Paper Chain

Set in the colorful Sonoran Desert, act one begins with Ysela, who is facing

a 20-year prison sentence for murder, and must leave her young son in the

hands of a stranger. This stranger happens to be a leading theorist on Martian

Colonization. Her prosperity and work ethic encourage the boy to explore the creation of his own virtual reality world.

Ivan grows up and, at 20, he suffers an epic tragedy that leaves him orphaned.

In his sadness, he retreats to his virtual world to spend the rest of his days. A

lot has changed since he last visited the place, and as its creator he is suddenly

burdened with enormous responsibilities.

The story divides as Ivan’s offspring – Hexagon in the virtual world, and Myrna in the real world – lead parallel lives and grow up to confront their own unique circumstances. Hexagon strives for freedom from her physical form, while Myrna’s mysterious futureshock drives her to a life in the desert.

Sixty years flash by, and with the help of a special gadget, Myrna decides to go

hunting for turquoise in the desert. This takes her on an interdimensional journey that leads to a chance encounter with her virtual sister, Hexagon.

Chain is a fresh speculative look at the upcoming century. Rather than dwelling on the pervasive horror stories of global annihilation or human extinction, Paper Chain is a story of adaptation, genetic destinies, and freedom of all kinds. In his directorial debut, Sean Madrid aims to capture the unique spirit of the

southwest and re-imagine its narrative. Having grown up in Tucson, Arizona,

Sean has found a home within the city’s dynamic creative community. As a

major collaborative effort, Paper Chain promises to be one of the most ambitious

projects to emerge from this scene.
