More About the 4th Annual Fox Theatre Foundation’s Chasing Rainbows Gala!
The Chasing Rainbows Gala is the signature fundraising event for the Fox Tucson Theatre. Known to be the only example of a 1930’s Southwestern Art Deco Movie Palace, the Fox has been meticulously renovated, restored and acoustically updated. Each year the Fox Tucson Theatre Foundation utilizes this event to recognize individuals who enrich our community. This year, the Foundation has named Chuck and Pat Pettis as the 2014 Honorary Co-Chairs of the Chasing Rainbows Gala, and will honor Richard Miranda with the 3rd Annual Downtown Leadership Award. This award honors those who by their words and actions have demonstrated a real commitment to building an exciting and vibrant downtown Tucson.
The MGM Musical “Chasing Rainbows” was on the playbill and more than 3,000 excited filmgoers were on hand to laugh with Jack Benny and hear a catchy new tune called Happy Days are Here Again! for the first time.
Our Annual Gala is a true celebration of that opening night many years ago. Since re-opening to the public in 2006 (after a 30 year absence and a 6 year, $14 million renovation), the Fox Tucson Theatre has re-established it’s place as the “crown jewel” of downtown Tucson’s resurgence. We hope you’ll join us for another fun-filled evening!
Past Gala performers include Judy Collins, Steve Winwood, and Vince Gill. Sponsorships are still available to be a part of this great event! Download our Gala Sponsorship Opportunities 2014 or contact Fox Executive Director, Craig Sumberg at 520-624-1515 or craig@foxtucsontheatre.org.
