Tucson, Arizona-- Pima Community College performing arts department presents the PCC Dance concert Signature Selections, under the new direction of Nolan Kubota. The dynamic program features dance faculty and student choreographed pieces inspired by a variety of movement processes distinctive of each choreographer, highlighting hip-hop, jazz, modern/contemporary and ballet styles. In addition to Kubota, PCC dance faculty include Gabrielle McNeillie, Ariella Brown, and Erika Columbi.
Kubota is a California native whose career has spanned two decades and the globe. He has done everything from working as a parade performer in Disney's Main Street Electric Light Parade to joining Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo. He earned a B.A in Dance from the University of California, Irvine, and his M.F.A. in Dance from The University of Arizona. In addition to teaching at Pima, he's an instructor at Fanny's Fox Den and tours nationally as a burlesque performer under the stage name Matt Finish. Kubota is the 2014 BurlyPicks World Champion.
Pima Community College Center for the Arts is located on the West Campus just west of downtown and I-10 on St. Mary’s Rd, which turns into Anklam Rd. Box office hours are Tuesday-Friday, noon to 5 p.m. and one hour prior to performance.
