Rick’s approach in these classes is good for actors - text and physical actors - as well as dancers, performers of any kind or people who are just plain curious about mime and using their bodies to express meaning. The classes will cover silent acting techniques used in mime to create an imagined world of illusion.
The seminar focus will be on what Rick calls the physical imagination and how the body knows before the mind comprehends. Rick’s work comes form his years of work with the renowned mime legend Marcel Marceau, and Rick’s study and practice of the pioneering techniques of Etienne Decroux. Seminar participants will have access to the incomparable talent and experience that Rick brings to Tucson from his global experience. Rick’s teaching is especially powerful in guiding participants in developing movement skills that deeply engage audiences, as Rick’s own performances demonstrate.
