Subject: A Heady Comedy About Friends, Marriage, Kids & All of…"THIS"

Best friends from high school in NYC push against middle age in Melissa James Gibson's brilliant comedy of today, called, THIS.  The Gen-Xers in Gibson's play define middle age as "a sudden sense of urgency mixed with intense exhaustion." Admit it. You feel that way sometimes, don't you? Embrace it & laugh about it in February at UA Arizona Repertory Theatre.

"A work…concerned with the sound and power of language… The most alluring new play to open in New York this season." —NY Times.

"…a wonderfully original take on urban friendship and the comedy of manners—a design for living for our times…the best new comedy I've seen in many a season." —NY Observer.

UA's Arizona Repertory Theatre presents THIS by Melissa James Gibson directed by Hank Stratton

TUCSON, AZ - In this comedy, four young, ambitious neighbors struggle to transition from the carefree 'that' of growing up to the tumultuous 'this' of adulthood. As they push the limits of their friendships, they show us that language can be a catalyst for intimacy as well as a weapon of defense. Capturing the experience of life happening while we make other plans, This gives us a humorous, wise & honest story about fallible - but bright - people in midlife who know that desire & misfortune don't automatically vanish after marriage.
