Soul Xpressions Performance Theatre is holding auditions for enthusiastic dancers, singers, and actors Saturday, September 23, 2006 @ Anjali Yoga and Day Spa, at 330 E 7th St. on the corner of 4th Ave and 7th St.
SXPT is a new and innovative performance theatre that incorporates singing and acting into original dance choreographies. We seek to to explore relationships between the body, space and time, and challege the community's preconceived notions of the performance arts.

The audition will consist of 3 parts, a modern dance audition, a vocal audition, and a monologue audition, led by Artistic Director Fabian Padilla. Artists should audition for at least two of the three talents (i.e. dancing and singing, singing and acting, dancing and acting).

Auditions start at 9am and last until 2:30. The dance audition starts at 9:30 am and will require a 15-minute warm up, a 20-minute across the floor excercise, and 55 minutes learning set choreography. There will be a break from 11:00 until 11:15, at which point the vocal audition will continue until 12:30. After a break, the acting audition starts at 12:45 and will consist of reading a 2-5 minute monologue.

Interested artists who aren't available at those times can perform a 2-5 minute original choreography, vocal audition, or monologue from 2:30 to 3pm.
