February 12th

from 6:00pm to 8pm

at the BERGER PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

1200 W. Speedway Blvd

(these are open auditions - no appointment necessary)

 

Please have a prepared monologue

if you are auditioning for a singing role please 

have a prepared a capella musical selection

 

 Description:

THE FANTASTICKS tells the story of a young boy and girl who fall 

madly in love at the hands of their meddling fathers, but soon grow restless and stray from one

 another.  Will their separation provide a deeper appreciation for the love they once shared or create a

 permanent gulf between them?  THE FANTASTICKS is the quintessential celebration of love, in 

all its gorgeous simplicity and heartbreaking complexities, and features such classic

 tunes as “Try To Remember,” “Much More,” and “I Can See It.”

 

 

Time Commitment: 

Rehearsals will begin in early early March. Production runs mid April.

April  20th through April 28th

at Temple of Music & Art's - Cabaret Theatre - 330 S. Scott Avenue

WE ARE AUDITIONING FOR THE FOLLOWING ROLES:

 

Note: All roles (with the exception of Henry and Mortimer) are for actors who sing.

 

El Gallo (Narrator):

Should have a facility for verse and  comedic skills. 

Moves very well. Baritone, low A to G above middle C.

Man, 30-50.  

 

Matt (The Boy):

 

Lyric baritone with low A to G above middle C. 

Looks around 20.  Actor and singer, energetic, with some dance. 

 

Hucklebee (The Boy’s Father):

 

Baritone, low A to middle C. Must be able to handle harmony.

An ex-Navy chief. A bit sloppy. Strong character actor. Some dance. 

 

Bellomy (The Girl’s Father):

 

Some dance. Baritenor, low A to G above middle C.

A button-maker. Neat. Strong character actor. 

 

Henry (The Old Actor):

 

Shakespearean experience an asset. Non-singing role.

Character actor able to play very old, with strong stage presence.  

 

Mortimer (The Indian):

Pantomime ability. Cockney accent.  Non-singing role.

Henry's sidekick. Character actor .

 

The Mute:

 

Move very well and have excellent concentration.
