“Moments in Time” - Arizona Repertory Singers
Season Finale Concerts

Travel through time with ARS and experience a harmonic confluence of choral styles encompassing traditional choral music, modern madrigals and tuneful ditties, including works by centennial ‘birthday boys’ Verdi, Wagner and Britten!

According to Music Director Dr. Jeffry Jahn, this concert highlights “both the momentary, fleeting experience of performance (for musician and audience alike) and the timelessness of choral compositions that have endured, in some instances, for more than 400 years.”

Dr. Jahn also points out, “From my perspective, it is no coincidence that the last pieces written by this concert’s featured composers - Verdi, Wagner, Britten and Grieg – were vocal works, although all of them were equally well-versed in writing instrumental music. What makes vocal music unique is the added component of text. When true musical masters combine these elements, the result is something celebratory and memorable.”

Celebrate with ARS at one of these concerts:

St. Thomas the Apostle Parish

Critically regarded as “Tucson’s crown jewel of choral groups,” the Arizona Repertory Singers is a 50-voice choral ensemble performing under the direction of Dr. Jeffry Jahn. The group performs a vast and diverse repertoire spanning Renaissance and Baroque works, spirituals, Americana, modern music and new compositions it has commissioned. The singers, selected through a rigorous audition process, maintain full-time careers in business, education, engineering, information technology, law, medicine, social service, science and the arts.

The a cappella choral ensemble performs in venues that feature stunning acoustics, which showcase the natural sound and blend of the group’s voices.
