Hi everyone,
Happy New Year! Our Songbook Series continues this Monday, Jan. 12 at 7pm at the historic Z Mansion, located in downtown Tucson at 288 N. Church. The beautiful parlor of this Victorian mansion, along with the baby grand piano, creates an intimate setting for our concerts.
In this concert, "The Collaborators", we will pay tribute to some of our favorite songwriting teams. Dorothy Fields enjoyed a career of almost 50 years, writing lyrics for Broadway and Hollywood with composers Jimmy McHugh, Jerome Kern, and Cy Coleman. Some of their songs include "I Can't Give You Anything But Love", "Exactly Like You", "The Way You Look Tonight", "Pick Yourself Up", and great classics from the musical, "Sweet Charity". We will also celebrate the music of Michel Legrand, and his work with lyricists Alan & Marilyn Bergman, including "What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life", "Papa Can You Hear Me" (from Yentl), and "Watch What Happens".
This will be a wonderful evening, filled with some of the greatest songs written in the last century. We look forward to sharing these treasures with you on Monday, Jan. 12 at 7pm at the Z Mansion.
