Join our Arts Organizations and Small Businesses who are sponsoring Arizona Arts Congress, Monday, February 4, 2013, at the State Capitol


The following arts organizations and small businesses from all over Arizona will be convening February, 4, 2013, at the State Capitol for a day devoted to promoting the incredible impact of arts and culture all over our state. Please join them and other arts advocates for a day of workshops and to meet one-on-one with legislators from your home district.

Arts Policy workshops*   

"An Insiders' Look at the State Legislature"- Former State Rep. Jennifer Burns and Former State Sen. Tim Bee (currently a member of the Arizona Commission on the Arts) provide tips and insights about how to discuss issues with your state legislators and "how things work" at the State Capitol. 

"Arizona Commission on the Arts Grants Information Session" Learn about funding opportunities from the Arizona Commission on the Arts for arts organizations, schools, school districts, arts educators and artists, including details about the Arts Education Partnerships Initiative, the commission's newest program to support partnerships between Arizona D-label schools and arts organizations.

Box lunches are available.


1:00-2:00 p.m.
Arts advocates will split into two groups to visit the galleries of the State Senate and House to be introduced by their legislators.

 

Policy workshops are approximately one hour long and will repeat once so advocates may attend both sessions. 

 

Arizona Citizens Action for the Arts also will provide you with training materials and talking points for your meetings with legislators. This is the one special day of the year when arts supporters come from around the state to be seen and heard by the Legislature. Don't miss it!
