Pima County Public Library recuiting 14-21 year olds for Tucson's first media center for youths - paid

Youth Design Team

Help the library plan media centers for youth.

As part of a national effort to make more interactive, dynamic places for youth to connect with friends and mentors and develop digital media skills, Pima County Public Library needs a group of 15 youth to create a plan. You will be community organizers, leaders and project planners. You will work with media professionals, and tell your own stories with video, photos and more.

This opportunity pays $100/month and is open to 14-21 year olds. You must be available to meet at the Joel D. Valdez Main Library every Tuesday afternoon, 4-6pm. Please apply no later than January 21. 2013.
Contact Jennifer Nichols for further information: 594-5562 or Jennifer.Nichols@pima.gov

iTNation

Test your digital media skills, have fun and earn money!

iTNation is a paid internship for high school students. Teens get experience using various digital media software and they learn how to teach introductory digital media classes. Learn how to do it yourself, then teach others to edit photos, mix music, make movies, and create animated shorts. Join iTNation and get paid to teach classes next summer and fall. All high school students are encouraged to apply.

After your internship training, you will be ready to teach classes to the public. We offer a stipend of $200 (for teaching a series of 5 classes).

For current iTNation internship training opportunities check the calendar here. If you have questions about iTNation, please call Ashley at Himmel Library at 594-5305 or David at Martha Cooper Library at 594-5315.
