Set during the afternoon of a huge protest, THE ALTRUISTS follows a gun-toting soap opera actress, her homeless and philandering lover, a Social Worker who thinks poor people are tedious and brings home male prostitutes when he needs an extra project, a male prostitute, and a gay woman who can't stop having sex with men because "POLITICALLY! I'M A LESBIAN POLITICALLY! ISN'T THAT ENOUGH?" This group of radical social activists learns the hard way that "firebombs don't grow on trees" in this furiously fast-paced black comedy by Nicky Silver.

Directed by Christopher Johnson and featuring Eric Anson, Shanna Brock, Brad Bultman, Dani Dryer and Evan Werner.

"Hilarious…the extravagantly amusing Nicky Silver has written one of his most consistent explosions of dark yet good-natured satire…we are carried aloft on the demented joy of [his] hyperarticulate imagination."

—NY Newsday
