Tucson, AZ -- Pima Community College Music presents the guest recital GOOD VIBRATIONS: Symphony Low Brass featuring Michael Becker, trombone; Joseph Muñoz, trombone; Steve Gamble, bass trombone; David Morgan, tuba; Mark Nelson, guest conductor and tuba; Victor Valenzuela, horn; and Shawn Campbell, horn.
The powerful and elegant performance features members of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and friends. The sonorous sounds of low brass resonate in an eclectic mix of music from the renaissance to current day. Program selections include “Sonata” by Daniel Speer, “Three Renaissance Dances” by Michael Praetorius, “Sinfonia No. 1,” “Sinfonia No. 4” and “Fugue in g minor” by J.S. Bach, and “To Be or Not To Be” by Henry Tomasi. The performance also includes “Trio Sonata” by Arcangelo Corelli, “Blackbird” by David Gilliland, “Lament” by Henry Purcell, “Toccata” by Phil Snedecor, “Chorale for six low brass in the style of Bruckner” by Enrique Crespo, along with three selections by Stephen Foster.
