PCC Theatre Arts

THE TRUMPET OF THE SWAN, Oct. 2-13. Families will love this courageous, moving story about Louis, a mute trumpeter swan who finds love and friendship as he discovers a way to triumph over his disability. 
    Sets are being built, Mickey Nugent is rehearsing with a cast of 21 talented students, MaryAnn Trombino is busy with costume creations and Torina Garcia is answering questions and selling tickets. Win two tickets to The Trumpet of the Swan.

 

THE LARAMIE PROJECT,  Nov. 14-24. The 1998 murder of a gay student in Wyoming became a watershed moment in America challenging existing opinions and inspiring change. An open dialogue with the audience, cast and director will follow every performance. 

 

FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, Feb. 20-March 2. A fun, family-friendly musical treasure  with many familiar songs. Don't miss the opening night Family Gala featuring contests, prizes and refreshments Feb. 20. 

 

THE MOUSETRAP, a murder-mystery by Agatha Christie. April 17–27. Suspense-filled and entertaining with enough twists in the plot to keep you guessing until the very end. 

 

PCC Music

Student, faculty and guest artists performances provide a variety of classical music entertainment including concerts by Pima ensembles: Wind Ensemble directed by Dr. Mark Nelson, Chorale & College Singers directed by Dr. Jonathan Ng, Jazz Improv Combos and Jazz Ensemble directed by Mike Kuhn, Orchestra directed by Dr. Alexander Tentser, and Musical Theatre Workshop directed by Greg Guenther. Faculty recitals by Dr. Mark Nelson Tuba, Jonathan Ng Tenor, Raymond Ryder Piano and Ben McCartney Classical Guitar , along with guest recitals GOOD VIBRATIONS: Symphony Low Brass Sept. 29 and THE POWER OF FIVE: Vocal Concert Oct. 6, showcases the abundant talent at Pima and the community.  
 

PCC Dance

Innovative and contemporary dance concerts highlight a variety of styles including ballet, modern, jazz and more, choreographed to a wide array of music inspired by movement processes. Under the direction of Aurora Gonçalves-Shaner. SIGNATURE SELECTIONS Dec. 13-14 and DANCE FUSION May 9-10.
