Subject: Seeking Actors for Staged Reading

SEEKING ACTORS FOR STAGED READING of Warren Bodow’s new play, “THE GUY ON FIRST BASE,” a comedy.

DIRECTED BY:  Steve Anderson

DATE:  April 28, 2014

PLACE:  The Rogue Theatre

REHEARSALS:  Done simply, the reading will require just four or five three-hour rehearsals, depending on the role.

The play takes place in the well-appointed Manhattan office of psychiatrist, Dr. Elmore Parkinson.  Ability to do a New York accent is a plus.

Actors will be paid a small stipend.

AVAILABLE ROLES:

CARLA WILLIAMS:  35.  Beautiful and expensively dressed.  Carries herself with assurance; not shy about her sexuality.  She is having an affair with Dr. Elmore Parkinson, her psychiatrist.

MOMMA:  78.  Spikey, shrewd, and comically bossy.  Somewhat like Dorothy’s mother on “The Golden Girls.”  Mother of Dr. Elmore Parkinson.

WALTER SCHWARZ.  40.  A patient of Dr. Elmore Parkinson.  Skittish, hyperactive, hiding a deep loneliness.

Please submit a headshot/body shot/resume to:  steve@steveandersonacting.com.

Actors will be contacted to schedule an audition/reading.  A prepared monologue is helpful, but not required.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact Steve Anderson at 520.981.0145 or steve@steveandersonacting.com at any time.
