DIANE VAN DEURZEN & LISA OTEY SATURDAY, MARCH 1, 2:00PM Unitarian Universalist Church in Amado just off the frontage rd. at exit 48 in Amado Territory Ranch $15 at the door Hi everyone, Diane and I are excited to return to Amado for an afternoon concert on Saturday, March 1 at 2:00! The Unitarian Universalist Concgregation in Amado hosts a concert series one Saturday a month. It is a beautiful space full of friendly people. There is also a cafe next door, serving delicious sandwiches and coffee. Amado is just 10 minutes north of Tubac, in case you want to do some shopping before the show! Tickets for the concert are $15 at the door. Half of the proceeds benefit the church. For more information on the Unitarian Universalist Congregation and directions to the concert, please visit their website, www.uucamado.org. Our Z Mansion concert series continues Monday, March 4 with jazz singer Ada Redd Austin. Ada, aka "Bootsie", grew up in Tucson. When I moved here in the mid-80s, she was already a legend on the jazz scene. She starred in a one-woman show about Bille Holiday and performed with her band all over town. She also spent many years working with our youth as a teacher at Brichta Elementary. A few years ago, Ada moved to Houston to be closer to her grandchildren. She gave her farewell concert at the Z Mansion, a riveting and heartfelt performance. Ada is coming back to town this month to appear with the Barbea Williams Performing Company at the Dunbar Cultural Center in a celebration called "Replanting our Roots". For information on Barbea's show, please visit www.facebook.com/BarbeaWilliamsPerformingCompany. Barbea has graciously allowed us to also feature Ada in our concert series at Z Mansion. I encourage you to attend both concerts and show Ada a huge Tucson welcome. For tickets to Ada Redd Austin's show with Lisa Otey at Z Mansion on Monday, March 4 at 7pm ($15), please visit www.lisaotey.com. If you have any questions, please give me a call at 520.370.5912. See you soon, -Lisa
