Subject: SB1098 in Senate Appropriations on Tuesday

SB1098, the bill to establish a Governor's Office of Film and Media, will be assigned to the Appropriations agenda next week.  Senators Don Shooter and Carlyle Begay are both supportive of the bill and it will be heard on Tuesday with the following amendments:

  1. The general fund appropriation will be pared down to $300k.
  2. There will be a reporting requirement within the first year to document progress.

Because the Appropriations agenda is already so long, at the Senator's request, we also agreed to limit the speakers to Barry Aarons, and Senator Begay.

Please email or call the Senate Appropriations Committee before Tuesday to encourage them to support SB1098.
