Jazz Singer Ada Redd Austin with Lisa Otey Monday, March 3, 7:00pm Z Mansion, 288 N. Church $15 reserved, www.lisaotey.com, 370.5912 Hi everyone,
I hope to see you all Monday night. March 3rd, at the historic Z Mansion for my concert with jazz singer Ada Redd Austin! Ada lives in Houston now, so it is a real treat to have her stop by and perform for us. Ada has an amazing voice, with a depth like Anita Baker and nuances like Carmen McRae. She also pays tribute in her shows to Billie Holiday. Like Billie, Ada can get right to the heart of a song and bring you there with her.
On Monday, March 3, I'll open the show with my own set, then accompany Ada on hers. Some of her songs will include: My Funny Valentine, Summertime, What You Won't Do For Love, and Someone to Watch Over Me. This will be an evening to remember.
The Hill family allows us to use their parlor and baby grand piano for these intimate "house" concerts. We will have refreshments (sparkling lemonade and cookies). There are also restaurants nearby, including El Charro, across the street. There is free parking in the lot north of the mansion. Street parking and a pay lot is also available.
Tickets for the Z Mansion concerts are $15. All seats are reserved. You can email (lisa@owlsnestmusic.com) or call (520.370.5912) to make your reservation. You may also purchase your tickets in advance (www.lisaotey.com).
Please mark your calendars for the last concert in our series, Monday, April 7 with Walter Belcher.
And, don't forget, Diane Van Deurzen and Lisa Otey will perform this Saturday at 2:00pm at the Unitarian Universalist church in Amado!
See you soon! -Lisa www.lisaotey.com |
