Tucson, Arizona-- In conjunction with PCC performing arts musical production of Fiddler on the Roof, Pima Community College is holding a Family Heritage Celebration for the community to come together to acknowledge the many cultures that make up Tucson and honor the individual heritages represented in the displays and entertainment. More that 125 images and stories were submitted from community members and PCC faculty, staff and students. These images and stories will be showcased at the Family Heritage Celebration on the opening night of Fiddler on the Roof, Thursday, February 20, from 6-7:30 p.m. The free event is open to the community and includes multimedia presentations of submitted photos and stories in the courtyard and Recital Hall. The foyer of the Proscenium Theatre will feature a large photo montage and a world map that people can indicate where their families originated. There will also be live entertainment in the courtyard from 6-7:15 p.m. by the Redhouse Dancers, members of the Cholla High School Mariachi Group, the Folk Dance Club of Sun Oro Valley, and a flute trio from Rincon/University High School Marching Band. The Louis Carlos Bernal Gallery (featuring Magical Realism with work by Gail Marcus-Orlen, Robert D. Cocke, Penny McElroy and Janet Prip) will be open during the celebration.

The opening night performance of Fiddler on the Roof begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Proscenium Theatre. Tickets are required ($18 with discounts available). The box office will be open during the Family Heritage Celebration or tickets can be purchased in advance www.pima.edu/cfa

A visual presentation of selected submissions will remain on display in the Proscenium Theatre for the run of Fiddler on the Roof (Feb. 20-March 2). A Family Heritage Project web page featuring all the submitted images, poems and stories will be available at www.pima.edu/cfa.
