    Film Tucson Partners with Latin American Training Center in Cross Border Competition                                                                                                                              

 

The Latin American Training Center-LATC, with support from Film Tucson, National Association of Latino Independent Producer-NALIP, UA Department of Spanish and Portuguese, Sonora Turismo, Festival International de Cine de Guadalajara, and Final Draft Screenwriting Software, announced a new 2014 Mexico-US Screenplay Treatment Competition.  

Focused on cross-border themes, the competition aims to encourage co-productions of feature films between Mexico and the US, to promote location shooting in border states and to help new writers find success in today's highly competitive film and entertainment industries.

The competition was announced in a press conference on March 20th at Visit Tucson. Present were: Steve Solot, President of the LATC; Shelli Hall, Visit Tucson/Film Tucson Director; Freddy Cabral Porchas, Sonora Turismo; Felipe Garcia, Visit Tucson/Vamos a Tucson Exec VP and Peter Catalanotte, Visit Tucson/Film Tucson Project Manager. The Competition was also announced on March 25th during the Festival International de Cine de Guadalajara-FICG 29
