The Migration Project, a documentary theatrical collage on migration and the ways we claim home,  is seeking actors, dancers and writers to participate in a devising process with lead artists Eugenia Woods and Nanette Robinson.  The workshop is free and will culminate in a finished performance piece which will become part of the full production.  For the purposes of this work, the term devising refers to:

performance that is built through collaborative and improvisatory processes, such as game-playing, prop work, letter writing, contact improvisation, and visual art-making. Generally speaking, devising activities pose a general question or problem and engage participants in working individually or collaboratively to work through the question or challenge.

Workshop dates are tentatively scheduled for October 18 and 25 and November 1.  Performances are scheduled for November 14, 15, 21 and 22.

We are focused on building an ethnically and culturally diverse working group: artists who have migrated recently and also those of indigenous heritage, let us hear from you.  Please consider sharing your background and a few words concerning your own migration history with us.

Please send inquiries, resumes and head shots (if you have them) to themigrationprojecttucson@gmail.com
